New motor just intalled, now no fuel pressure

I was hoping to have a running car today, but the fuel pump is not turning on. As far as we can tell, all the fuses and relays are fine, as well as everything is plugged in properly. Normally, when you turn the key 3/4 of the way, the fuel pump engages, but it isnt doing that now. The car sat for a year in extreme desert heat with a half gallon of gas; did the gas clog the pump? Is there anything else I could try?

I have a feeling you will be dropping your tank soon. I bet your pump went from sitting. 1 year and bad gas is rough on a fuel system.

Have you confirmed the pump itself is getting power?

Apply 12V directly to the fuel pump (can get access to the fuel pump wires under the car just above the axle) andd see if the pump runs. This will point to, or eliminate the wiring as your issue.

Man, I had a similar situation but my fuel pump hose popped off the top of the pump after my engine install. We thought something was wrong with the motor until we looked at the logs. I guess after sitting for a while, the pump blew it off when we tried to wake the car back up after the engine install.

Unless you like dropping the rear end the cutout method is great. There are several threads about it. This can be used to check it over and over with little trouble.
