New injectors for Hotcam?

I am installing the LT4 HC in my car and having the heads rebuilt. I have everything apart right now and was just wondering if it would be a good idea to upgrade my fuel injectors while I'm in there. If so, what injectors and will I need an adjustable fuel pressure regulator?

Re: New injectors for Hotcam?

I had some home ported heads with larger valves, a HOTcam, and the other supporting bolt ons. While scanning the car at WOT I saw the injector duty cycle go up to around 92%. I would have liked to see it lower. I guess what I'm saying is that the stock injectors will work, but if you have some money laying around some bigger injectors wouldn't be a bad investment. You wouldn't need an adjustable fuel pressure regulator, but I think you'd need some tuning to get your air/fuel ratio in check.

Try to keep duty cycle to around 80%. The higher the cycle the more the injector is working, the higher chance for problems

Can any of the various mail order tuners adjust the pcm for bigger injectors if I wanted to run the svo 30# injectors? I'll just go with those if I get new ones.

Re: New injectors for Hotcam?

Are you just refreshing the heads? Doing any port work? Larger valves?

Re: New injectors for Hotcam?

I'm not having any port work done. Just a rebuild on the heads. I'm adding the hotcam kit, RKSport headers, 52mm TB, and a loud mouth exhaust. I'm also ditching the dual cat setup and running one high flow 3" cat.
