new here i've got a little problem w/ mycar

well i have a 96 ta, the problem with my car is that i recently installed mac mid length headers & instead of running better it ran worse. I use to hit 13.10 all day now it's always between 13.50's - 13.80's

Um, is it in the same weather and track? And what are your other mods. More info is needed! LOL. I would guess exhaust leak probably. Or maybe an arching plugwire?

i had my car scanned and fixed the arcing problem that it showed and it needed an o2 so i put simulators on there. took it to the track and ran alittle better it hit a 13.456 being the best that day from a 13.80 from last weakend.

did you get the ceramic coated macs or just the regular "hts" coated? i was thinking about the regular macs until i saw how rusty they look so fast.

Re: new here i've got a little problem w/ mycar

Since you have an OBDII car, you need to buy two 02 simulators ($50 each) and connect them to both rear 02 sensors. Your car WILL NOT RUN PROPERLY UNTIL YOU DO THIS. Take it from experience. I had the ceramic coated mac shorties/mid-length headers and ditched em real quick. I hated them. They leaked like a son of a beeatch too. Your air fuel ratio is probably really messed up right now unless you have the sims.

Also, get those 4 plug wires changed out and go with OTVC set-up. It looks purty and serves a purpose too.

i've already done that and it ran a little better but still not the same since before the headers.
