New Heads big problems help!!!

I just recently blowed a head gasket on my 95 Z28 Lt1. Since the car ran hot I had the heads checked and redone. After putting everything back together and setting the valves to specs, The car fired right up and seemed momentarily as if all was well. Then an intermitant miss began. Well I tracked it and tracked it and couldnt find it anywahere. So I took it to a friend who has a Snap On scanner. It said all the plugs were fireing properly but came up with a code 18 problem with injectors. The car was sucking down the gas too. Its completely stock. My question is why would the injectors be bad now when they werent before the head gasket blown. As far as we can tell its the #1 cylinder injector. And since I drained the bank on the heads I dont want to buy new injectors until I know for sure whats happening. Any ideas would be appriciated.

Recheck the lash on that cylinder - you may have the valves too tight.

Possibly you damaged the injector, or the wiring harness when you were working on the head replacemnt. I'll move this to the "LT1 Based Engine Tech" forum for you.

To test the injector, You can swap injector #1 with injector #2 and see if the problem moves to cyl #2.

I also would double check the lash on cyl #1.

Thomas.
