New guy from NY.
New guy from NY.
Thanks for the add. I bought my first lt1 and t56 out of a 96 trans am but the engine isn't original to the car. It came out of a Corvette but I'm not sure which year. I also have the engine harness from the Pontiac and would like to use it instead of buying a new standalone harness.
Re: New guy from NY.
Ther should be a derivative of the original vehicle VIN stamped on the block, driver side, behind the oil filter. Look for the letter that indicates the year:

Do you have the PCM out of the Trans Am? What vehicle are you installing this in?

Re: New guy from NY.
If the engine ran OK with the PCM and harness, the only issue you should have is interfacing it to your vehicle's body harness, where required. Is there a part # on the PCM (ECU)? That might tell us if it the Corvette unit or an F-Body PCM.
Here's a photo of a 1995 F-Body harness. 96 would have additional wires for the after-cat O2 sensors, EVAP vacuum switch, and crankshaft position sensor. None of that is required for the engine to run correctly.

The three “firewall” connectors sounds like a match. Here is a table with the harness connector pinouts, from Shoebox:
