new guy here..quick question

hey guys i just picked up a 97 camaro SS 6 spd. as of right now it has bbk shorty headers, moroso cold air, and a flowmaster cat-back. i am sure this question has been asked a lot, but i am new to the GM thing, and dont know where to start. what i am looking to do is make about 350 RWHP if possible with stock displacement, maybe a 355. the car has right at 50,000 miles and i would hate to rebuild right now without having to, so if it is possible i would like to add the parts to my existing block. if anyone can give me some suggestions as to what combo could get me to the numbers i want i would greatly appreciate it. thanks

A hot cam would also be a good start, also a 58 tb. good tune from pcm4 less.

Re: new guy here..quick question

i have heard not to mess with the gears..so i hadnt planned on it. as for cash i am only looking to spend maybe 1K right now, but am just wanting to get started in the process to achieving 350 or so RWHP. it will probably take more money but i am not looking to do it all at once..just a little here and there. i do use it for a daily driver, but i dont need it to have perfect drivability

You heard wrong. Not that theres anything wrong with the stock gears but some 3.73 or 4.10's would be and aswome upgrade.

Re: new guy here..quick question

i figured they would help out, i have owned several mustangs in the past, and they all benefited from gears, but people around here tell me it will only make my traction worse, and it is very hard to get traction with these vehicles as is, let alone changing the gear ratio, so i had planned on leaving them alone.
