Exhaust question: emissions and sensors

I have a set of pacesetter coated LTs with emissions hookups I will eventually be installing on my car. Im planning on retaining the emissions equipment until they fail, at which point i will chuck them. Anyway, I plan on getting a catted y-pipe welded up for it, but flanged so that i can drop it, and run either open headers or maybe a set of 3" duals to run at the track. my question is, can the emissions equipment be run even if there are no cats? (and not throw codes) I plan on getting the rear 02 sim tuned out when i get my PCM done. thanks in advance

Yes, you can run the AIR and EGR and still not have the cats.
