My dad bought me 93 Camaro with Supercharger. I really like the way the car looks and goes, but my engine is knocking and the oil is leaking from it, so I decided to rebuilt the engine. But after reading through your discussion, I canīt decide what is better - rebuilt the engine using some performance parts or put there a stroker kit? I donīt want to be dependent on garages, because they will tell me that the best is what they sell. What do you guys think? :-)
If you are really interested, I can post my pics. I am in a team with few guys who have S2000, Civic, Integra, BMW 850i and they still laugh at me, that I have US car, which canīt handle well at corners. :-( What would you tell them?

I would build the motor back as a 350 unless cylender damage occured then go a 355 (.030 bored , making the bore 4.030)
Add some nice Forged pistons with a small say 12cc dish in them, some 4340 I beam 5.7 inch rods, and a scat or eagle 4340 steel forged crank (can go with a cast steel crank). If you are keeping your boost below 8 PSI or so the cast steel crank would hold up fine as well as some less dished pistons.
If youre not worried about massive amounts of power and jsut want it to scoot simular to what it did before the motor died I would just have the heads mildly ported (pocket port and 3 angle performance valvejob) along with a little bit more aggressive camshaft than stock. (say a 212/220 .050 duration 502/510 lift on a 114 lobe sep) If the motor is put together nicely and balanced it should hold the boost for quite a while.
One thing that concerns me is if the fuel system is up to the task, while the car is down have your fuel system checked out, make sure the fuel pump will hold sufficient pressure over the RPMs and needs of the motor, and make sure the fule injectors are working properly and clean.

First thing i would do on this site is go to User CP and edit your signiture. This allows you to put the mods that you have done to your car and the bottom of your messege so everyone doesnt have to ask you everytime you post, what you have done to your car. But anyway what kind of supercharger are you running and what kind of boost?

Monika i would tell them that when they can keep up with your Camaro at the drag strip then they can give you a hard time 
As far as your rebuild goes it really depends on what your wants and needs are. It will probably be cheaper to rebuild the motor as a 350 with better parts (forged) and once you have your 350 built up your motor will be able to handle more boost if you wanted it to.
When it comes to forced induction cubic inches arent as important (just look at high horsepower motors that are super charged or have turbos but are smaller in cubic inches)
You could build a 383 but in my opinion you are going to run in to a larger cost and probably more complication.

if you have some money to rebuild the engine, and you REALLY like the car, then definetely keep it. There are tons of nice cars in Germany, but Camaros (even though I'm sure it's not considered a "serious" car) are somewhat of a rarity, which makes then unique.
Do you have local Chevy shops with good reputation over there? If you don't, then your best bet is probably to buy a new built shortblock (from a reliable company) and have it shipped from US.
As for selling the car, I don't think it's worth it because she probably won't get more than 1000 euros for it in its current shape.
