New engine.. Keeps heating up.. Coolant problem.
I put my motor in and all was good at idle so I lowered her down and took her for a spin.. Before I knew it I was almost in the red. I shut it down and pulled over and poped the hood to find that the overflow tank was spilling out water. I let it cool. Refilled it, bled it by the bleeder valve at the top not the one on the thermostat housing. Then the same thing happened about 10 minutes later. It seems if I turn the heat on it cools the car down a bit. Its getting extremely hot in there. Anyone know what this could be? I changed the thermostat out aswell.. The pump seems to be working, when I start it up with the cap off coolant flows through.

Yes... lol. I seems that the thermostat housing is sucking in air and bleeding out coolant.. But it wasnt leaking before the thermostat change.. I dunno, Im goin to bed, ill deal with this tomorrow..

You are bleeding both bleeders, correct? When you first put coolant in the engine it will take awhile to get all the air out of the system. An air pocket could easily cause your problem.
