Smile New Dyno Numbers for the Z

got my pig dyno-tuned on Sat.

mods:
stock bottom end LT1
stock heads
comp305 camshaft w/ dual springs and 1.6rr's
stock clutch (not much grip anymore)
full exhaust (LT's into 3" duals)
NGK TR6 plugs gapped at .38 for nitrous, Taylor 8mm wires
stock 3.42 rear w/ a bent axle (that can't help anything........)

328rwhp/343rwtq

What do you all think? Is that about right for a cam-only LT1, granted it's not a big cam by all means, so i think it's reasonable right now.

I'm getting new valvesprings/pushrods and getting new axles put in. As well as a special Ram clutch that will be suited to hold the TNT 150 shot that is being put together right now.

I just hope i can get to the bottom of the "squiggly" lines w/ the valvesprings/rear axle fixed since we couldn't do anything w/ the tune. Opti maybe? i hope not.

A/F was a perfect 13.2-13.4 across the board too

Sounds pretty good, now throw on a CAI, E-WP, ASP Pulley and get your money's worth out of that cam.

Pretty good #'s Ben... Those squiggly lines are more ignition related than anything. How old are your plugs / plug wires? Perhaps the old tune semi-fouled out your plugs if it was rich...

Additionally, any idea on what the graph looked like w/ the smoothing set @ 5, instead of zero? Just curious if the power fell off abruptly or what.

naa.. i wouldn't think so. But if it's got a lot of miles on it. it certainly wouldn't hurt.

Re: New Dyno Numbers for the Z

not a whole lot of miles, maybe like 20K?? replaced it back in '03 before a road trip to Vegas :dunno:

I have a feeling the Delteq is going to be draining my bank acct here in the next couple days

Re: New Dyno Numbers for the Z

i just ordered the Combination Motorsports EX-612 spring kit along w/ some new hardened pushrods....between those, an ASP Pully, 58mm TB (i want it for the spray, not so much gains on motor tho...), and fixing my bent axle, i should be solid in the 330's and maybe sneak a 340rwhp in there someplace!

I can only hope

Re: New Dyno Numbers for the Z

I highly recommend that you do not use 612 springs.
