Question New dual exhaust, bullets to loud, what should I try?

I just installed a 3in. X pipe along with the longer 23.xx in. bullets. Yes it sounds awesome at wide open throttle, but at lower rpm or just cruising around, its simply to loud. The interior shakes and rattles like crazy. On the highway in 6th gear theres such a loud droning noise that the radio is almost out of the question. Hard to have a conversation with your passenger if you get what I mean. Anyhow, what would you guys recommend. I want it to still be loud and sound good, but not this loud. Also, something smaller to fit well under the car before the axle. Thanks

Aaron

i assume your dumping under the car. if so thats the reason. it really resonates under there. i ran my duals out the back with the shortest bullets coming out with 4" tips, its easy to talk over, or hear the radio.

if you cant run them out the back you may try a ricer tip. a freind of mine did it to his(actually its 97Z-M6) it toned it down alot and smothed the rasp out some. it actually look pretty good also.

Well my car is quite loud also.. I found the bullets really made no difference at all so I took them off. I think the exhaust really needs to exit out the back to keep interior resonance down. Also, a good muffler would help - I think I'm gonna try and fit a spintech muffler or two under there somehow.

Edelbrock performer RPM's. They're only 3 5/8" thick so they tuck up under the car really well. You can see straight through them but they're pretty quiet, not much louder than a normal catback. Definitely much, much quieter than bullets.

I'd like to see someone try the Dynomax Ultraflow round in a true dual setup.

If you are running the exhaust down both sides of the car
you should run it all the way back over the axle. If you do
this you can use a number of mufflers in the stock location.
Dual Ultraflow rounds, single Ultraflow, Magnaflow, etc.

I can tell you that the Ultraflow is very quiet. Interior sound
is quieter than the stock system with a nicer exhaust note.

Ultraflow picture

The part number for the muffler number in the picture is 17276
if you are curious.

Summit PN FLO-325508. Same thickness as a bullet, 3". 8" wide, 10" long. Sounds GREAT, no drone like a bullet. Only downside is the price. I have them, and after these, I will have nothing else.
