new cold air kit;have questions

well I finally got my new motor in. went from a FI motor to a NA setup.I purchased a Moroso cold air and a BBK 52mm TB as some of the mods. I installed the stock TB for the first initial startup to avoid the gremlins that can be found with installing a new TB as I didnt want the car to idle at 3 grand LOL after it ran for about 30 mins. I switched over to the 52. Idle was the same but now this thing whistles louder than my Procharger ever did. Is this common with cold air kits and larger bore TB's? its extremely noticable even with the hood closed. No leaks around any of the connectors to go ahead and clear that up. It just sounds like its pulling massive amounts of air in from the front fender well. Some have told me that its no big deal but i just want more opinions

If you take off the throttle body and smooth out the edges on the IAC holes the whistling noise will go away.

The holes that are drilled in the TB to meter the amount of air the engine takes in at idle. This is controlled past the holes by the idle air control valve.

Is the 52mm TB a BBK? They are notorious for producing a S/C-like whistle, due to a poorly finished IAC passage. The IAC passage is between the two 52mm bores.

I have a stock powdercoated TB with an SLP Airfoil, back with the K&N FIPKII and it whistles as well. Cold air kits are renown for this, atleast on V8's.

Just turn up the stereo a little bit

I've got nothing (not even an MAF) between my 58mm Holley and my ear except a few inches of rubber hose and a flimsy K&N, and there is no "whistle".
