new cam

hey guys,
I realize this is a little different than usually posted here but any help would be appreciated. I sent a cam request to comp cams for my s10 with a 97 lt1 in it. stock 80k mile motor and tranny pulled from a wrecked camaro. auto tranny. it weighs about 3250 lbs. and has 3.73 gears. he recommended an lt1 252xfi hr13. part number 07-464-8. said to use 1.6 rockers put it in 4* advanced and use 26915 valve springs. Please tell me how this sounds and if there are any other recommendations. thanks

also, i requested a cam that had a lopey idle, and an increase in performance without killing my fuel economy.

You really cant go wrong with the LT4 hotcam kit, especially for the $$$. that 252xfi cam is really on the smallish side. You could get away with bigger than the LT4 hotcam, as I'm sure many are going to post, but for the price the hotcam kit is hard to beat.

I'm not familar with that particular grind of cam, but Comp makes several that cater to the LT1 motor. I haven't heard alot of feedback about the XFI series from anyone on this board. As mentioned in the above post, the old proven LT4 Hotcam can be had at a good price and it has a nice lope to it as well.
