cheapest bet would be some LT4 springs then.. I'm guessing you still have the stock camshaft?

what other parts do I need to get? Do I need retainers, caps, or is all that included in the spring set?

Your stock retainers, spring base shims will work with the LT4 springs (they are the same). Although, you should replace the valve stem seals, as they get hard with age and can leak oil. GM parts has some premium seals for the LT.

You'll need the KD valve spring compressor and a magnet to catch the locks. Also, make sure each piston is TDC on that cylinder when changing the spring and seals to make sure you don't drop a valve.

Im running the pro form 1.6 rr's. I still have all stock valve train. I was informed that unless you get coil bind (when installing the rockers you can check for this), no need to change anything. Additionally, unless you are leaking oil, dont mess with the valve seals.
I have 90k on my motor, no problems yet. Just my .02.
By the way, I bought the LT4 valve springs and never installed them. If you do want to put them on, its a pain but good insurance I presume nonetheless.
