MD, if your car is more of a trailer queen put a built turbo 350 in. WIll suck up less power.

I would stay 4L60E, it has served you well.

Great times Alan! Sorry to hear about your woes. If you were close by I could have you back on the road in short order. Let us know what you're doning.

Just about 4 years ago I had ProBuilt Automatics build my 4L60E with a stated goal of 320rwhp and 13 seconds. Well obviously things have changed, been under this heads and cam for 1.5 years and about 15K miles and had about 30K or so on it before ranging from 260-290rwhp. All I had to do after I added all the extra power was redrill the 1-2 feed hole.
Corvette servo, stock planetaries, no beast, lots of the "wrong" "basic" parts, the 4L60E needs a builder more than it needs a parts list. I am planning to refresh it this winter but it is going strong yet.
Most unique part on it is the vacuum modulator, my understanding is it provides more stable pressure than the computer does.

Alan, I hate to hear that you busted the tranny but man.... your car is impressive, congrats on the new times. Maybe someday I'll get you to give me some suspension tuning advice and we'll see if the t56 holds up any better.

Yeah, I was talking to the trans guy today...He's taking it apart now to see what happened...The 60E has served me well over the last 3 plus years of abuse, and they don't last forever...I'll probably just have it built again and just freshen it every year or so...There have been a few upgrades available since it was last built...I do like the OD and love the 3.06 first gear, but I will probably send the Vig back for a freshen and a 4000 stall upgrade from my current 3600...I'll know more in a few hours when I get the phone call...

Thanks, but its all Tyson..He's the man...I'm just a dumb driver...He's taught me a lot, though...

Alan, congrats on the great times

If you're going to stay N/A now is a great time to put a Yank PT in there

My trans has the 5 gear planets front and rear, the beast, Sonnax Super servo, twin piston OD apply and everything else that was available at the time...I guess 3 plus years of hard launches and then yesterday's unreal launches took their toll...I can't bitch...I did go quicker and faster than ever and my shift points were still a bit too high...never had a chance to tweak them in after the BOOM...

Thanks, but I'm going to stay loyal to the Vig...Its so easy to drive and even easier to launch...I'm sure a 4000 will get me some 1.4X 60's next year...The car does like the 4.10s though...

How do the M/T 275 60 15 drag radials fit? Are they ok, or did you have to do a little work? Thanks, Rick.

Even my 275/50/15's needed a little work. Nothing crazy, but they didn't fit right off the bat.

They were a direct bolt in...Now I have adjustable everything under the car, but they still fit fine without changing anything...Its when you step up to the 325 50 15s that you have to use a BFH...I can say that with my combo they work awesome...I cross the traps at 6500 pulling like a freight train!! Or at least I used to...

I have Bogart wheels, as does Alan. My M/T 275 50 15s needed no work. But I was wondering if any extra work for the 28" tire was required. But thanks anyways, Javier.

Alan your 121-122 mph trap speed should put you in the High 10's with around a 1.45 sixty IMO. 3600lbs for a N/a car is heavy do you still have everything??? If I was you I would stick with the 4L60E. My buddy keeps going through several of them himself but the wrong guy is building them. He could have saved some money and bought one from some one reputable, lol. Your tranny guy seems good though, 3years and SEVERAL low 11 second passes.

I hate not having OD...I am seriously looking at the 4L80 route...I hate it that much.
Which is why I drove my 4L60E around in no higher than 3rd for a week, just to see what it would be like if I ran a TH400/350. I got tired of it quick, and thats what led me to the 4L80E. I really like it, and it's not half as bad as people try to make it sound. No beating, no cutting holes, and a trans that will laugh at 500-600 horse stock.

Still very impressive Alan, your car is a testiment to what people can do if they get the whole setup to work well together and dont worry about dyno numbers.
