Question new battery options?

I need a new battery - are their some light weight options out there for a reasonable cost?

Are the spiral ones worth the extra $$?

thanks

I have a Braille that's been holding up well for a couple years.

You have to decide if it's "reasonable" way to save 10-20#:

I have a yellow top optima battery, a little expensive on the price range, ive had it for over 6 years now. I run a pretty intense stereo, hence why I went with the yellow top. Maybe be out of the price range but I feel it was well worth the extra money. I never take it out of my car for the winter here in canada either, and it still holds a good charge.

Yes, but a Yellow Top is NOT light weight (37lbs vs ~25 for the Braille).....

Without any other weight savings, it's probably not worth the weight savings from just a battery.

Re: new battery options?

Thanks for the replies. I've had a Canadian Tire (72 month) battery in there now and dug up it's original receipt - it's from 2001! Wow does time fly - i had no idea it was that old. I'd say it's done really well considering winter storage every year and i've never charged it up. I did have a 12" sub and 600watt amp as well but took that out a couple years ago and sold it.

I like the idea of the lightweight Braille batteries - anything to get weight of the front end of an LT1 would be welcome. I have seen them go on sale from time to time as well, but at regular price i dont know that i would go that route.

i'd like to weigh the one i have to see how heavy it is - maybe this will help me decide.
