New 227/233 Dyno Numbers

Well, I made it back to the dyno today. Let me go ahead and get the peak numbers out of the way.
Old numbers- 351hp/332tq
Todays numbers- 351hp/347tq

I could bitch about the peak hp, but I am not going to. Instead I am going to focus on the positive things from the dyno run.
1. My peak torque increased by 15
2. My horsepower increased by 20hp across the board from 4400rpm to 5400rpm.
3. My torque curve is at 300 @ 3000rpm and still at 300 @ 6000rpm and it peaks at about 4600rpm. I think thats a pretty nice torque curve.

Now for the problems:
1.Peak hp is low, but I think its because my AF ratio was 11.8 across the board. Funny I went from 14.2 on my last dyno trip to 11.8 on this one. More on that later.
2.This cam will absolutely NOT pull any higher than 6200 rpm. It falls on its face and there is no pulling any higher. I wanted to blame a failing opti, but damn the dyno lines just look to clean. I love the torque, but I sure wish I could pull it to 6500.

AF ratio- Ok, the last time I went to the dyno it was lean at 14.2 across the board. Now it is pig rich at 11.8 across the board. Ion did the tune and he swore it couldn't be that lean. He was right and I have no complaints about the tune. I would rather it be rich than lean. Anyone want to know why it was lean? The 3 sensor wires in my MAF were dirty as hell, thats why. I clean the MAF yesterday and its been rich ever since. I figure there is 15 more rwhp in leaning it out good. If I ever get this combo just right I think 375hp/350tq is what it could make. Combo says this cam is good for 400hp at the wheels, but I have my doubts.

Note: the only changes I made to the car was swapping the flowmaster out for a Hooker catback and cleaning the MAF.
Anyone have any idea why the car will only pull to 6200? The hp peaks at about 5800-5900 which is about the range for an XE grind. I will try to get a scan of the graph up tomorrow.

I don't know where the other cams in the XE grind series rev to, but I know that the aggressive lopes of the XE grind tend to make the power drop off extremely fast after peak power is made. That's one of the drawbacks to those cams. (That's is straight from the mouth of Lloyd Elliott, was talking to him on the phone last week about heads). And yeah, 11.8 can't be good for power production.

I had the same mods as I do now except I added the Hooker catback and cleaned the MAF.
