My car has over 122,000 miles on it and i've been wanting to learn more about engines. I'm looking into what i'm going to need in order to build a new engine for my car. Can you guys tell me what i'll be needing and the best place to get it?

 

what all do you wanna do with it? drag racing, auto-x , street racing?

 

Well, right now i'm just auto-xing it and taking it to the strip every now and then. Really not asking much of it, just want a new engine with some cheaper mods done to it while it's out of the car. I don't really need it to be the best out there. I just don't want to spend a lot of money on a used motor when I can build a new one up and learn stuff while doing it.

 

do your cluth, tb bypass, headers, plugs, cam, and stuff while your doing the build up. roller rockers, roller lifters, 3 way valve job, porting and polishing, forged pistons, I mean the list can go on and on while the motor is pulled. Thats alot of stuff I wish i would have done. I did a few and they are all in my sig

 

But where can I buy a new short block engine around Indiana? What all needs to be added to it to get it running? Is there a kit I will need in order to make it work with my car? Those sort of things....

 

Try the local forum.....they should know a lot about shops there........
