Need your thoughts on this shortblock

In my own opinion, I would never buy that shortblock. A .030" block is at the end of its rope, especially with a forced induction motor. In other words, if you ever need to bore it again, you'll have to find another block. Besides, for a high-power engine, you'll want maximum block integrity. In my case, I'm using a standard bore (4.000"). I believe Rich Krause is only running .010" overbore (4.010") on his mega HP engine.

I would say it depends on the price. Add up what the parts minus the block are worth and base a fair price on that, because the block is near the end of its' life.

The first 140,000 miles were from a woman who was the original owner in Florida. She was 48 when she sold it... And the reason I considered it at all is that it was in mint shape, espicially under the hood. But then I've put 10k on it, the last 2000mi were with a cam upgrade and then the rod bearings on #8 went... I gave it plenty of WOT for the last 10k, and that is the one reason I'm not too sure it'll be a good block... But I hear on the little old lady - that's why you dont buy a modded car

Maybe it's the same reason you don't buy a well used modded shortblock from someone else.
Anyhow, good luck with whatever you decide.
