Need/Want new engine for my car. Please Help!

Ok well my engine messsed up pretty bad, the crank shaft is hitting. So
i think its time for a new one but i have some questions.

1) Can i even buy a stock engine? Brand new?
2) I was hoping on convincing my parents to buy a better performing engine but i was wondering what engine should i get? Any websites?
3) Do you guys recommand any engine?

There are rebuilders selling complete, stock LT1 engines. There are performance vendors selling high performance rebuilt LT1's. The factory hasn't made a new LT1 engine for about 3 or 4 years, but sometimes you can find one that was hidden away in a dealer's warehouse.... Burt Chevrolet in Denver seems to find some oddball LT1/LT4 stuff, including "marine" engines.

I think Golen is one of the rebuilders. You might want to identify your budget... you are probably looking at $2,000+ for a rebuilt, $4-8,000 for a performance long block, and LPE will build you a twin turbo for $50,000.

How fast do you want to go? How much do you want to spend?

The LS1 will bolt to your Tranny. All you'd have to do is get a new computer. I've also seen used LS6's also in that range.

You will need a custom tune for the cam, and probably some larger injectors. Everything else should bolt up just fine.

Yeah for sure if i get any engine it will be a 383. Im not expierenced enough to tackle a engine rebuild and im assuming it will cost me more to get part by part rather than just buying.
