Need Trouble Code Help
Need Trouble Code Help
Scanned my 95 LT1 m6 today and it threw the following codes:
27: EGR electrical fault
32: EGR failure
26: Canister Purge electrical fault (would this explain gas smell?)
77: Fan 1 fault (fuses look good, whats next?)
84: Third to second gear downshift feedback fault
83: Torque converter/clutch control feedback fault
I imagine EGR failure is just linked to the electrical fault. Any help with any of these codes would be much appreciated. Just bought the car yesterday and am workin out the bugs. Thanks in advance.

The fan relays, EGR solenoid and EVAP solenoid are all on the same fuse - #6 in the underhood box.
Since you have an M6, you are using the wrong codes table - your tranny doesn't have a "Third to second gear downshift feedback fault" or a "Torque converter/clutch control feedback fault". Those are for an A4. With an M6:
DTC 83 = Reverse inhibit system (manual transmission)
DTC 84 = Skip shift solenoid circuit (manual transmission)
Both those solenoids run off fuse #6 in the underhood box .
Are we beginning to see a pattern here?

And, are these active codes, or stored codes? Did you try clearing them by pulling the "PCM BAT" fuse for 30 seconds, to see if they come back? If the reverse lockout solenoid was inactive, it would be extremely difficult to force the shifter into the far right slot for "reverse".
