Does the LT4 Extreme duty timing chain set work on a 94 Opti with splined shaft drive?

No. Wont work with the non-vented opti. You can get the stock chain at one of the many GM dealerships in Houston. Go to the parts dept. Or Racenet or one of the other speedshops in town should be able to get you the stock chain.
If I was you
If I was you id get an electric waterpump and a real timing chain like a cloyes double roller or equivalent, and those together can be had for about as much money as the weaker LT4 ED unit. Im not sure if you'd have to upgrade to the vented opti at the same time or not, cuz i have a 95, but thats what id do. hope this helps.

Actually, I have a brand new stock chain P/N 10128485 - unopened - still in the GM shrink wrap. I beleive they are about $30 - dont quote me - I forgot exactly what I paid for it. I'll sell it to you for $15 though, if you pick it up. I'll be out of town this weekend, but I'll be available during the weekdays next week. PM me if interested.
I decided to do the vented opti converstion, with elec water pump, and double roller, that's why I never used the stock chain. If you want to use the ED, Lt4, or Double roller, then yep, you've definitely got to do the vented opti converstion. I just went through this myself on my 93.

thanks for the offer, but Id rather go to the parts store just becuase its convenient, unless you live close to seabrook, or clear lake, one more question, will a 95+ chain (not the gears) be the same as a 92-94?

I put a new factory chain back on mine. I did a search a while back, and found that all the changing/swapping isn't really worth the hassle. An Lt1 hardly ever has a timing chain failure...Unless...It's extremely high milage. A "good" chain will also fail under high milage conditions.

As shoebox, mentioned - Definitely replace the gears too, if they've got 100k+ on them...
