i need help choosing a y pipe
I recently put the jet long headers on my '95 Trans Am convertible. I don't know now what y pipe to put on to get back to the cat. Is such a pipe made or do I need to customize something?
first off...wrong forum...this is LS1 Tech...you need LT1 tech
but anyway...there are not ypipes that i know of that are designed for hookers and maintain stock cats...it isn't possible.
there are a few companies that make ypipes for long tubes that have cats in them. look in the new summit catalog they have a company called "stainless works" or something like that who sell stainless steel ypipes with cats installed...but for $400 i think.
they also have off road pipes to eliminate the cats...

Yes, you need a custom y-pipe. Forget the stock cat. I believe Mufflex makes a nice off-road y-pipe for Hooker long tubes. If you want cats, you'll need to buy them separately and have them welded into the y-pipe.
Check with the place that you bought the headers from. If you bought them used, then check some of this site's sponsors.
