Need Some Starter Help
Hey Guys I just finishe up my cam swap and fired her.
She started up good for a stock tune car with the tune and no CPS etc etc etc. Ran a little funky but that was expected.
I started it open maf without the K&N on and I put my hadn over the maf and BOOM huge loud *** back fire. I go to fire her again and the starter is grinding. Get up under there and the long starter bolt is broken. As in sheered off right at the threads.
Okay two questions: What do you think caused this? How do I get it out?

Either the starter bendix was engaged when it backfired which is highly UNLIKELY. Or you loaded up a cylinder or 2 with too much fuel and it tried to compress it which over stressed the starter at the last attempt to start the engine. For starters with a support nose cone, it usually tears the nose cone off.
Any well executed bolt should not bottom out in the hole it's going into. You should be able to use a pin punch and walk the bolt back out by tapping in a circle around the outer edge. If that doesn't work, center punch the bolt and use a left hand drill bit in the center. It will usually grab the bolt and work it out. If you are inexperienced, do NOT try using an easy out. They usually break off with a novice. As a last resort, you could weld a piece of metal to the broken bolt and simply unscrew it.
