need some help and advice

so the other day i put some valve cover gaskets on my 94 z28 and it started skipping after i was done. i checked all the connectors and everything nothing was loose or undone so i put plugs, wires and fuel filter on my car. i went to test drive it and check it out the skip was better but still there. is it possible the opti is going out? the front crank seal has a leak and have some oil on it but it's been like that since i got the car in september. i have also heard of turning the lt-1 into individual coils like the ls1 by just putting coil rail on and a crank trigger. anyone heard anything bout it and have any advice on the skip i have

Under what operating condions does it "skip" (misfire?)? Idle, part load, WOT, all of the above.

There are two ways to run 8 LS1 coils:

Bailey LTCC - uses only the Opti optical cam position sensor, feeding the LTCC black box, which drives the coils.

EFIConnection 24X - Uses a new timing cover, a crank sensor wheel and pickup, a complete LS1 PCM to drive the 8 coils.

you can feel it skip at idle and when when you first take off but if i brake torque the car and load it to 2500 you feel it maybe twice on the way up to 2500 but it's really quick and you can't recreate it. do you think if it is a opti to convert it over to the individual coils and if so does it really work and benefit you in the long run?

Is your engine basically stock? If so, it should run perfectly with a healthy stock ignition. The multi-coil systems are primarily for very high HP setups, that challenge the capabilities of the stock system. It wouldn't make any sense to invest $500 in the LTCC or well over $1000 on the24X on a stock engine. But you haven't told us anything about the engine.

Have you checked all the vacuum connections? Maybe you knocked one loose, or cracked a hose when you were installing the valve cover gaskets.

the motor is bone stock except a cold air intake. tonight i was driving it and it over heated extremely bad and the car shut off completely on my way to my house. it wouldn't start back at all and sounded like it lost compression upon spinning over. i had a friend come by to help me out to get it running the solve to all my problems was the coil wire came off. after market parts suck they never fit right
