Exclamation Need some assistance from some gurus...

Car has been laid up about a month. Prior to that all I did was readjust the valves. Car ran fine so I put it on jack stands for a month to do some little odds and ends. Relocated the alternator, put new valve covers on and that's basically it. I also test fitted my delteq and routed the wires for them but HAVE not installed it. Only thing I took off and put back on were 3 wires and the connector to the opti that is it. Went to start the car after a month and the car will start but not even 10 seconds I get swoosh sound from the intake and the car cuts off. I can crank it but it takes a act of god to finally catch and then I've got to keep my foot on the pedal to keep it alive. If I let go I get that sound again and it shuts off. It also sounds like it isn't even firing in the right order. The engine doesn't shake but it clearly sounds off.

Is it possible to have timing chain skip a tooth or this possibly opti related? Bad plugs, gas, wire crossing, opti, wires themselves, ICM, coil, what? Taylor wires fairly new, opti is used but less than 10k total on it. I'm thinking of just putting the delteq in and see what that does but I don't see how a car can sit for less than 30 days run perfectly fine and then go to jump in the thing and just go bezerk on me.

Thanks for any suggestions.

Retrace exactly what you did. Check anything you touched and see if it is connected or bent or what ever. I don't believe in coinsidence. It had to be something you did. Check a couple of plugs for spark. If you have that, try squirting fuel in the intake.

I'd check the wires you pulled off. It's very easy to cross them if you're in a hurry or just not paying attention.

You guys were right. Crossed wire. Forgot I took them off the opti altogether and 1 and 7 were it. It dawned on me later that night after reading the replies. Man I felt stoopid but hey at least I'm back in the saddle again. Thanks!
