ok guys short and simple i have been on this site for a long time but never posted but i have some problems and i have the general idea what the problem is but wanted a heads up from all of you.

Ok i got the car had a blown head gasket and i fixed all that no big deal. started up the car it fired right up but was kinda chugging like it had some dead cylinders. the car was pleanty drivable but just did not have the punch it should. i was told optispark and then told ignition control module, well the top coolant line sprung a leak and i had to make it home so i made it home but almost all the way home it started missing and popping with some backfireing a little here and there. I let the car cool then fixed the line fired it back up ran the same chugging until it warmed up then it starting popping and stuff again. well of course the icm was cheaper to start off with so i changed that first ran the same **chugging** until it warmed up then started popping and backfireing again same symptoms as before i changed it. so thats the short and sweet way to describe the problem let me know what you all think i would appreciate it.

 

Is there a SES lights......
I'm gone go out on a limb and say the opti is toast.
I'm pretty sure if the icm goes bad the car will not run at all, but dont quote me on that.

 

there are no lights on in the dash just the ole faithfull coolant light. I was thinking the opti myself just want to hear some more input yah know.

 

Well guys just to throw my two since in i just got my car out of the shop and it was sopost to be fix they put a new opti and coil and plugs and all on it. But when i got it and it warmed up a little it started back firing and it dont have the power at all that it use to could it be possible that maybe one or to of the spark plug wires are mis crossed. Just thought i would let ya know i am sorda having the same prob.
