fuel injectors
fuel injectors
need to buy fuel injectors for my car, gonna buy from racetronix most likely but im not so sure which to buy... 32s 37s 38s or 42s?
my stuff simplified:
383, LE3 heads/cam/ported intake
32s are cheaper but I dont know if they'll handle over 450 fwhp, 37s, 38s and 42s cost the same I believe.
there MAY be nitrous in my future, so Ive been leaning towards 42s.

Re: fuel injectors
Depends how conservative you want to be on sizing. If you use the typical online injector size calculator, for 450flywheelHP, with an 0.50 #/HR/HP brake specific fuel consumption (BSFC) and shoot for the recommended 80% (max) duty cycle, you get a requirement of 35.2 #/HR (for an injector flow rated at a 43.5psi fuel system pressure). Anything larger than that will work comfortably with your engine, and give you a cushion for future improvements. Going "large" (within reason) doesn't hurt you.
If you have a really good/efficient tune, and are willing to push the injectors to 90% duty cycle, you could get by with a 30 #/HR injector.
I would personally use at least a 36# injector, but many will tell you they can make 450flywheel on the stock injectors. Defies logic, because an injector can't operate at more than 100% DC.
