need serious help...my car died this morning

i was getting ready for school today. allowing my car to warm up for 15 minutes i took off. i bareky made it 2 miles. my instrutment panel just lit up. every singal warning light was on. i lost my power sterring and brakes. I coasted off in a friends driveway. i tried to restart and the only thing that would happen was the fuel pump kick on and the engine turns over. i have no fire what so ever. so i walked back to my house since it was 7 in the morning and no one will answer their doors that early. i made it to my house and called AAA. i met them at my car and it started up!. well i made it halfway to my house and it shutoff again. finally i just gaved up and told the AAA wrecker dude to just tow me home.

does anyone know what could be wronge? i'm thinking it may be the coil on my 93 camaro. but before i go and spend anymoney i would like to know whats going on. besides i dont have much to spend anyhow. i'm a full time college student and all my funds goes into gas and tuition.

Sounds like some electronic component is getting too hot and from my few years browsing this board it would seem like the ignition control module is a good possibility. Its that small rectangular black sensor bolted down right beside the coil, on the same bracket. I am not entirely sure how to test it but check out shoebox's webpage... he seems to have good diagrams and procedures for testing various sensors such as the ICM. Good luck.

yes of god yes its fixed! the ignition control module was bad. i had to pay 91$ something for it but it runs now. the guy said if this was going out for awhile then it could have caused me to have bad gas milage. he said one customer came in and he had the same problem as me. the coil and ignition module. he was getting 5mpg! lucky me i was getting 15-17mpg

well its fixed thank you lord.
