Need Quick Tach Light Help!!

I got a 94 z and i'm installing an autometer shift light...used the wire from the red slot number 13 that is a red wire but my shift light is lighting up at half of whatever the number is on the pill...not sure if i did something wrong or what..any other place to hook the wire up to in order to check it?? Please help asap, thanks

Should be a white wire at pin 13.

Ditto. Red PCM connector, but white wire.
