Need Programming For My 97 Z...help me out
I've traded in my 93 Z for a 97 Z and am going to do gears, upgrade to 17in wheels, 160 t-stat..etc. I was thinking of just going with a HPP, but i've heard they arent worth the money...but i'm not going to make this a monster or anything so i dont need a lot of tuning. I've also heard of LT1 Edit. Is a LapTop required for use of LT1 Edit? If so, then count that one out for me too...then there is pcmforless.com.... i dont know much about them except you send them your pcm and they do the rest. If anyone can help me out, i'd be greatly appreciative.
Since you have OBDII LT1 Edit isn't cheap, it runs about $550. Unless you want to spend that much, I'd recommend sending your computer to PCMFORLESs. It will cost you just about as much as a Hypertech, but if you ever need to have your computer reprogrammed again, PCMFORLESS has a deal where each re-program is cheaper.
thanks man. i figured that the pcmforless guys would be a better shot...lots of peeps bash the whole HPP idea. I've had 2 93 Z's so this whole OBDII thing is new to me. Thanks for the reply!
bryan at pcmforless is a proven source for good work, you can also look into Madwolf, he just started "officially" programing ecm's for the board, although he's been actually doing it for some time.
