Post Need part # for stock LT1 timing chain

I'm doing the LT4 HOTcam kit, and I need a timing chain for it. I would run the LT4 extreme duty chain... buuuuuuuut I have an electric water pump so I think the stock one will be fine. I also do not plan to rev it too much higher than stock. Anyways, does anyone have that part ##?

John

Oh well, while we're at it, how about a part number for Impala SS headgaskets

Just the chain is 10128485. I would always replace the chain and both gears as a set.

If you have an electric pump, why not put in a double roller? Much better than stock and not that costly.

Well, I am being very, very cheap on this project, let me explain why. I just put in a new converter and shift kit. That set me back a bit. I have some heads that I did a homeport on that are almost ready for the car. It got a little hot the other day, and now I have a blown headgasket. So, while I have the motor apart I'm gonna do a cam as well. If I can get by on the stock chain and it's cheaper(do they sell a set?) than something else I want the cheaper one. All of this money has to be put back into the account that I'm "borrowing" from, and I'm only working enough to pay for it during the summer. Back in the fall I'll be in school and broke again.

Basically, I just shelled out a good bit of money, and I'm gonna have to shell out another good bit. So I'm looking to do it on the cheap, but also right.

IMO, you are making a BIG mistake in going with a stock lt1 chain instead of the 80 dollar double roller chain.

80 bucks dude. for a much better chain! buy the double roller.

If he doesn't have an electric waterpump, double roller won't work.

The stock LT1 gear set is about $93 from the mail order dealers. Chain itself is 30 odd bucks from same.

Stock timing set $70 from Dal. I think Combination Motorsports has a roller set for $70.
