Hey guys. I have been talking to Lloyd and Bret about my set up and they both advise to go with a LT4 head instead of TFS due to getting me the correct compression. I currently have 11.25 to 1 but with my -16cc dished SRP pistons it would lower back to stock which is not what they want to see. I am going with their opinions on this.

So anyway I see at Scoggin Dickey they have Assembled LT4 heads for little over 600 each which isnt bad and a LT4 intake manifold for 250ish.

Normally when you buy a bare casting its cheaper, and Lloyd is going to be porting them out, milling, larger valves, and beehive springs. So basically why pay more if im not going to need it.

So long story short, anyone have a Part # for bare LT4 castings and where I might get them??

I too was heading that way and was working with Lloyd. Instead I will be doing the bare TFS and switching my -12cc to -5cc flat tops so my compression will be very close. He says my 383 will love it. Unfortunately I will have to have my 383 re balanced and new bearings , rings, etc. but I want to spray....
I was searching for some bare lt4 castings and couldn't come up with any. Try Lloyd. If he can't get any then you prolly won't get them bare unless they are used. Good luck in your search cause mine was futile.

 

Just a thought...you could get AFR's bare.Probably $900.And about 3 months.They would be awesome ported out.

 

Yea, Ill have to talk to Lloyd about the LT4 heads. I was going TFS, but im not pulling the block to put a different dish of pistons. Cus if i did I would go with shorter rods, dump the compression and slap a blower on it......

well, money wise, thats why I am going fully ported TFS with bigger valves and my 5cc flat tops, I wanna break 10's with the bottle.If I were to build a forced induction , it would have to be a turbo for me, they are cool as hell!

 

GM doesn't offer the LT4 heads bare any more. bummer .
that's one great head for the money.

Thats a bummer, I will have to email Lloyd about the heads, if he can do better than Scoggin Dickey, then ill get through him, but if he cant then I will get them through Scoggin.
