need an oil dipstick tube, any aftermarket for LT1?

after about an hour of finessing my 12 year old dip stick tube out , i ended up vice gripping it and banged it out. I went 2 the local speed shop and they couldnt find any aftermarket ones for my 93 Z. i looked on Lokars website and found one for the LS1 but no LT1. can u get a stock replacement from car quest? if theres any after market out there let me know thanks!

On my new 383 setup I am using the stock dipstick and dispstick tube from GM. Machine shop had to bend it a SMALL amount and trim alittle to fit my Canton 7qt oil pan. But you should be fine with stocker from GM. I think they make an adjustable one that u can flex around...i think its that same company u said had the ls1 version. I think guys on this board are getting them from summit racing. Give it a shot, search also...i think this oil dipstick topic has come up a few times.

yeah i was searching and almost everyone i found was How do i check my oil, blah blah blah, i looked at summit and lokar makes that stainless steel flex one but it doesnt look like theres any way to secure it b/c that bracket is not by the block like the stock one is. did you bolt yours to the stock location in the block?

Stock one does fine and probably cheaper than any aftermarker one. With some headers you might have to bend slightly but, no big deal. Just bend the upper part... don't bend the part that goes into the block or you will never get it in.

I haven't had mine dipstick tube bolted to my block since 1998. It acually makes it easier in changing the plugs.

I am using the Lokar flexible dipstick and tube its not specifically for an Lt1, but it is for the 86+ SBC engines. It works great, and looks great...BTW it bolts on with a header bolt.

I had an oil leak where the dipstick enters the block after removing the tube to install headers. I suggest sealing the tube with black RTV and securing the tube to the block...oil leaks suck. I would suggest getting the stock GM tube. Good luck with you project.

I have the Lokar too. It's not LT1 specific, just get the one for SBC like Kyle said.
It looks nice but it can be difficult to get back in when you are checking your oil. And the handle gets hot.
