what are some good shocks and springs combos and the best place to buy them? thanks

I am pretty sure HAL are top of the line. They are rather expensive though. You can check them out and others at www.ls1speed.com

The first thing you need to decide is what you want them for (drag, street, auto-x, road racing ...) and then shop in that category. There is not a shock that is great in all those things.
