Well my shocks are shot, takes to the previous owner and his car jumping fun. Anyway, I'm looking for some new shocks and really I don't know where to look brand wise or anything. Could anyone help me out here?

I was looking for something a bit more for performance. But I don't want to sink a lot of money into shocks since I don't have much of a budget right now.

Bilsteins are ~$300 for a set, but may not fit your budget. The SLP take-offs are the best deal you will find for like new, stock shocks.

I don't need the shocks right now so I can extend my budget to like 300-350, form what I just looked at. Ebay is about to be my best friend.

Ebay is EVIL. Another good set would be some KYB AGX's. They run about the same price or a tad more than the Bilsteins.

I am the cheap bastard in this crowd. I replaced my with a pair of brand new Napa Shocks at a whopping 16.55 a piece plus Hawaii tax. My experience with this shocks is that they are solid. My rear end is planted. Actually feels more solid then the front ones. Could they have given me the wrong shocks? (expensive ones for the cheap ones) Yes its possible but its a long shot. I sincerely doubt it.

I purposely avoided Monroes. In my Experience they Suck big time.

So there you go. Bilsteins if you have deep pockets or Napas if you are counting pennies.

KYB

On every F-body iv ever had you cant go wrong with KYB. They also have different types avalable. basically 3. The adjustable which are expensive but worth it if you race the car, pointless if you just drive it on the street. They you got the KYB Gas A Justs which are actually quite nice for both street and mild racing. Then you got the GR2 stuff which is good for replacing the stocker stuff and getting alittle better ride. Dont get me wrong, DECARBONS slp offers are sweet deal. And they may be all you need if you dont tear up the streets or track with your car.

I went with the Bilsteins when I did mine. $330 from www.stranoparts.com They are definately an improvement over the stock Decarbons. They have a very controlled ride. They aren't something that you will notice all the time, but when you first put them on, even smooth roads feel better. Kind of hard to explain.

I dont think someone else would have done a better job explaining it. You did it in three words.
