Thumbs up Need a new damper

I need a new damper and I have been looking at Fuildampr part # 740101. It is $400, though. I was crusing though ebay to see if I could find a good used damper. I found this instead. Has anyone used this brand? Is it any good? I'm I asking for trouble by using this unknow brand? Thanx Rob

Re: Need a new damper

The Fluidampr and ATI Super Damper are intended for high RPM engines, and are SFI-rated to pass NHRA regulations for specific ET levels. With the mods shown in your signature, it wouldn't appear that you need a $400 damper. There are several relatively low $$ dampers available for the LT1, beside the overly expensive factory damper. Check out the Summit and JEG's catalogs.... I know they have them in there.

Also, the eBay page you linked is obvioulsy for a "Fluid Damper".... NOT a real Fluidampr. Who knows if its any good. Appears they give you the SFI label loose, which I doubt is acceptable.

I think you will also find that the Fluidampr itself is not a universally accepted product.... 1/2 the people love 'em and the other 1/2 hate them.... there is no in-between. I have the ATI.

Re: Need a new damper

Thanx Fred for the reply. You are right about not needing a high dollar damper. I just one of those guys who like the fuildampr.

I just finished with a search and found some good info. There isn't alot of info on this subject, though.

Long story short, going to order the Poineer from Summit.
