need a lil input

Are the front shocks on a '95 Z indeed shocks or are they struts? I'm confused because i purchased a set of eibach lowering springs but then i was told that i need a strut in the front...is that true? I went to KYB to look at a set but still unsure of what i need to order. any help is greatly appreciated.

I think it's a strut.

You have to remove the strut/spring as an assembly. Yes the spring is attached to the strut. You've got to go rent a spring compressor from a local auto parts store, compress the spring and take it off the strut. Then compress the new spring and install it on the strut. It's a lot more complicated than that taking it off, and it's been a while since I've done this so I can't really remember the steps. You might try doing a search for it, there have been quite a few helpful threads.

Fourth gen F body fronts are 'coil over shocks' not struts...
You do need to compress spring to remove tho..

Here's a link to Injuneer Fred's How to on Hal shocks, and Eibach springs, etc... might help you some...
