Need info on best PCM programing
Ok, I am sending back my Superchips programer with custom program and getting a full refund that cost me $552.00 because of problems. I have an appointment at Speed Inc. for a dyno tune and I here that this tune is good for WOT only ? and I know my superchips was and some others are good throughtout the powerband and full throttle. What are the facts and recomendations of the best tune.
I'm sure if you talk to the guy doing you're tuning he will help you out with whatever you'd need. The guys at Speed Inc are great...and I would imagine Jim (INTMD8) will be doing your car...just talk to him and I'm sure he'll help with whatever you're concerns are.
IMO, the best tune will be one you do yourself with a program like LT1 Edit.
However, a bit of "time investment" will be required. Myself and my buddy have combined well over 500 uploads to our PCMs using LT1 Edit. This all takes time and effort in learning "what's what". However, there probably isn't a tuner out there who would be willing to spend as much time as my buddy has making his car run as close to perfect as it can.
So, to answer your question, the BEST PCM programming can be done by the car owner. But, you need to weigh the benefit of spending the time to learn this to get every 1/10 of a hp out of your car vs letting a tuner tune your car in an afternoon and "getting it close".
