Need help on some mod desicions. Please HELP

Ok, I love the look of the anodized red lt-4 intake that summit offers. Now, I'm wondering if installing this on my lt-1 is going to do me any good for the dollar. It's 239.95 and I'm planning on long tubes and a cat back for a fact, I'm looking for them right now, but I don't know whether or not to pick up this intake too and go through the trouble of installing it. Basically, it would go on my car in my sig, top end is a refreshed stock top with 18k on the rebuild. Will it do me any good or should I just stick with my stocker intake and port it for a new throttle body and go the TB route instead? Any ideas or specs on the lt-4 intake compared to the lt-1 would be great. Please help!!!

The LT4 intake will not work properly with LT1 heads. The intake ports are ~0.100" higher on the LT4. If you want a red intake, have yours powder coated.

It's not so much the color, it's that I heard it flows better than the lt-1 intake, but that's why I asked. Any ideas on a 2 or 300 dollar install to help out intake flow?

Your stock, unported LT1 intake already has 52mm bores, so a 52mm TB is an easy direct bolt-on. You only need to open up the intake when you go larger than 52mm.

i was thinking about a 58 mm from bbk. i've got this thing bored .030" over so i'm sure letting in a little more air wouldn't hurt

The lt4 heads flow better than the lt1. The lt4 intake is cast with more meat in the intake so you can port the intake to match the lt4 heads.

I think that the 58mm's are overkill for most apps. Might even hurt performance in your case by reducing intake air velocity, from what I've read.

If your car's an auto, you'll need a re-program for a 58mm TB.

Well it's an a4 at the moment but the plan is to swap in a t56 in the very near future, and I'm debating on whether or not to get a tune for the lower i've all ready had built and the LT's arriving this coming weekend. Plus I'm still debating on my exact exhaust set up. exit in front of the wheels. I thought about dumping under the car or actually keeping the cat and doing a cat back.

I'm running a stock cat-back with a DMH electric cutout behind the cats... I can have the sound as loud or as quiet as I want! I need to pass e-tests, though.
