So last night my brother took out my camaro. he said he peeled out at a stop sign then missed second gear after that. he couldnt put it into gear at all after that. he pulled up to a light and the car wouldnt go into gear. finally he got it into 1st and he drove for a little and pulled into a gas station where he turned it off to see wat was going on. the car then wouldnt start again at all. when i turn the key the only thing that happens is the lights turning on. Anybody know whats going on?

 

You need to add details about your car like if it manual or automatic and any mods. Its best to do that in a signature. Then people wont have to hunt for it and will be more likely to offer a suggestion. To me missing second seems suspect because were would you go? Missing fourth and hitting second is trouble but missing second not so likely. Personally id quiz ur brother a little more. Like if he was rolling backwards and the gunned it or exactly what happened. I am assuming its a manual so I would see if the clutch disengages when pushed in(car will roll being pushed). The other thing id question is the switch that is engaged when clutch is pressed in.

 

its a 95 z28. with the lt1 5.7 engine. 6 speed manual transition. the only mod really is the straight pipe. other than that it is stock. at the stop sign he gunned it after peeling out and missed second. then put it in neutral and coasted down the road when he got to the light. the light turned green and he couldnt put it in any gear at all. im guessing he muscled it into first gear then drove across the light and into the gas station. he shut the car off and then it wouldnt start back up.

 

and yes the car does roll while it is shut off.
