Need help with a oil gauge problem

I installed a 93 TA dash in my 95Z and followed the 97+ Camaro wiring diagram and everything works perfect except the oil pressure gauge. Probably 75% of the time on start up it pegs past 80lb. If i push on the bezel right below the gauge the guage will come down and read the right oil pressure. It will usually read right for a second or two then peg again. I assume this is a ground problem. Sometimes it works perfectly, and if the gauge does peg at start up by the time i'm done driving it, the guage has usally begun working correctly. If this was a bad ground wouldn't it effect the entire cluster not just the oil pressure? Doesn't that mean its probably a problem with a ground on the gauge in the cluster? I would think if it was a bad ground to the whole cluster they would all peg. Any help. Its annoying, and i really want to get it fixed.

I'm still trying to figure out why you put in a 93 dash and used a 97 wiring diagram.

Sounds like a cluster problem, if it will change when press on it. I would, however, check the wire to the sensor to be sure it is in good shape.

I used the 97 wiring diagram because the 93-02 TA's have the same plug in as the 97+ Camaro. Someone else did this swap and told me to use the 97 diagram. If you look the 97 Camaro dash is pretty much exactly the same as the 93+ TA diagram. Everything works just as it should except for this.
