Need help with high rpm misfire - have searched

I am getting a high rpm misfire (over 5,000 rpm) that is very noticable. I have searched and determined it could be the coil, opti or plug wires. Here is my setup, I am running a Vortech supercharger, CRANE ignition, Hypertech coil (been in there for 5 years) and Taylor wires. I checked all the wires and they all look good.

The misfire doesn't happen every time, only in some gears and it varies each time I drive but it does miss in one gear or another.

I am still on the original opti but the car only has 23,000 original miles and is never driven in rain, etc.

What is the best way to diagnose whether it is the plugs, wires, opti or coil?

I would appreciate any help.

Why would a coil randomly misfire? Wouldn't it have to be an intermittent connection to the coil to cause that problem? Plugs are more consistant than that unless they are fouled. Wires can be checked visually and with an ohm meter. Be sure to flex the crap out of them while you are ohming them. Corrosion on the cap or the rotor might cause a misfire but it SHOULD show up during idle as well.

A more important question is what about your tune and your fuel supply? Remember a lean condition can cause a misfire problem among others.
