Need help fast, shop might be trying to screw me
I took my car to a private emissions shop because it failed for HC at the state inspection. I ran the car with a computer and the only code was a bad fuel injector (This was done at a different shop). Now the other place just called and said that since the car is "highly modified" (didn't talk to them, my mom did) a "sensor was out of range" and would caost about $300 to fix. I changed the plugs, airfilter, and bad fuel injector over the past 2 days and the car runs a lot better. Do you guys think they are tyring to get me to pay $300 for a pass? They also said it might squeeze through with the sensor change. Any help is needed.
