Unhappy Need Help CODE 26 Error

Hi People,

I recently ran into a problem, my car for some strange reason starting giving me CHECK ENGINE light....I went ahead and plugged in the Code Reader and it gave me a CODE:26 error. Which is Quad-Driver module or Quad-Driver No.1 Error...

I am clueless when it comes to troubleshooting cars, I was wondering what exactly does this means, and how can I resolve this issue ?

Your help will greatly be appreciated...

A code 26 indicates a failure in the EVAP purge solenoid.

It could be EVAP related, but also other things. The 1993 is a little different than later years.

How about on a 94? The wiring looks fine, should I just order a solenoid?

You've asked this same question in 3 different threads.... I know I responded to you in one you originated, Shoebox responded in another where you highjacked it from the orignal poster, and now you've highjacked yet another thread and asked the same damn question.... What's wrong with the answers you've been getting?

Take a look at the following links, they're directly out of my 93 Service Manual:

DTC 26 Description

DTC 26 Diagnostic Chart

Those should get you moving in the right direction.

Now we're getting somewhere .

What does your manual show connected to the QDM #2 (DTC 27) and QDM #3 (DTC 28) circuits?

It would be better if they were a little bigger (more readable), but I'm not complaining.

Yeah, I tried to clean them up some as best I could, but my scanner is a vintage model. I just upgraded to XP and it won't even work now.

I've got the rest of the DTC charts in the SES Light link in my sig.

Re: Need Help CODE 26 Error

Excellent.... I've been looking for those for quite a while, even asking repeatedly here on the boards. I have a 93 manual, but it is a "reprint" of the GM material `by Howell Engine Development, intended for their LT1 conversion harnesses, and it omits the QDM info, since I guess they figure anyone doing an LT1 swap in an older car won't be using most of those devices.

Thanks!

Rob: You ought to add some sort of note in the "93" column of your DTC code listing, indicating what devices are on each QDM.

Good idea, Fred. Done.
