Need Help Asap With Motor Jacking!!!

How far before the bolts line up?? Ive gove over an inch, the entire car is raising....the bolt is just as easy to turn the whole time, so it isnt getting easier - should it slide outta both holes really easily? Or do i have to force it thru the first then align it only for the second one? Also, do i have to remove both motor mounts if i just want the pass side raised??

Re: Need Help Asap With Motor Jacking!!!

A little confused here. You are trying to get your motor mount bolt back in? The motor does not need to be jacked up much for the holes to line up. It should in fact sit on there fairly well, with minimal jacking. Play with it a little, there is a sweet spot where it will slide in and out fairly easy. If you clarify what it is you are doing then we can help more.

The front side seems fairly centered while the side towards the back of the car is at an angle

also - where exactly should the wood be and how large a piece of wood is needed?

Yep, if its moving the car, you need to come back down with it. It only takes a little bit to get the weight of the motor off the mount. After the nut is run off, you may be able to wiggle it out, or get a hammer and tap it out.

all install guides is see say just unbolt one side? is it assumed the other side as well? It would make sense to me since you're jacking in center on trans - should the wood touch oil pan at all? Why is this so difficult for me

Just do the side you're working on, leave the other one alone till you're putting that side in.

I put a block on the jack and jacked on the oil pan . It worked, but I would probably do it on the tranny.

Trust him on this, if you get both of them undone at the same time you will struggle all night to get them both lined up again.
