will i be able to do this myself?
so i'll cut like 2 inchs off her pipe (at the tip0 and then put on the reducer and then my muffler right?
will this sound better? than her v6 muffler?

thanx Dan,
well with my headers no cat and my new HOOKER catback which i adore... she wants a new. louder exhaust..
and i have this 40 lbs paper weight sitting in my garage
so i have an idea, i offered her my " dual tip'd V-8 exhaust" and i think its a nice jesture and it will help her car (fellow f-body member) be better. and i'm not looking for sex, but this can be good for friendship
so whats wrong with that... anyways.. so can i buy this adapter for the pipe.... will this sound any better.. will it flow better?

All you need is a short ring of pipe that the inside diameter is the same as the outside diameter of the V6 pipe and the outside diameter is the same as the inside diameter of the Z or T/A muffler.
Don't cut anything off the old pipe, just remove the muffler. Then slip the ring on the old intermediate pipe and then slip that in the new muffler. Alternately, just have a shop convert it.
SLP used to sell an adapter like this for this very purpose, to go with their take off mufflers to fit them to a V6 car. (but it is just a little ring of pipe like I described)
