Unhappy ran a 13.8 today...

r/t .534
60'1.971
330 5.802
1/8 8.909
mph 80.09
1000 11.589
1/4 13.877
mph 99.11
well this was my first time at a 1/4track , the car does well to the 1/8 but then its looks like it doesnt have the topend maybe i need a lt4km or something, all the other lt1 cars were running 13.9-14.3 with bolt-ons headers etc. i dont have headers installed and i was beating them and ls1's, ls1's were running 13.7-14.2 with boltons i was really beating them to the 1/8 then they would start to catch up. what can i do to get more topend lt4km? i have headers but im waiting untell i get a cam to put them on. also it was really hot out and this was at califonia speedway

an LT4 KM wont help you with your 1/4 times. Only thing it does is retards the false knock given from the LT1. Nice times though, i wouldnt be too depressed, especially if you were wuppin on LS1's!

Heads and cam is about it. The LS1s 15 degree valve angle is the differance. Get some port work done and go hunting LS1s. Try this guy, www.cylinderheadspecialties.com He did a great job on my grocery getter (Blown383LT1) and is very trustworthy.

Your time is pretty good for your mods, i have the same thing happen to me when i race LS1's. They catch up, catch up very fast. Here is a list of my mods and my quickest time.

60' --- 2.030
330--- 5.821
1/8---- 8.918@79.16
1000-- 11.612
1/4----13.884@99.42mph

- Moroso CAI
- Flowtech Cut-Out
- Flowmaster catback(never used since the cutout)
- 160stat
- 3.42 rear(should have installed a TC)
- all on stock creaky suspension

Times look pretty good, especially with the heat. Slap on some headers, 3:73's and a torque convertor and it will really wake your car up. Prolly the 3 best mods for a A4.

i could probably get a 13.6-13.7 is cold weather with a little better launch but as long as i beat some ls1's its all good and all in fun. btw one ls1 i raced had no cats flowmaster wisper lid and ported maf with k&n and i beat him so dont let those ls1 guys intimidate you, but some are really quick.JC Z28 me and you would be a really good race

LS1's confuse the **** out of me...

The thing is, you'll have one bone stock LS1 running in the 12's, then you'll have one that has a lid, exhaust, etc and he's running high 13's-14's!!!
