Need help asap! 96 LT1 AC line, I need a pic of the passenger side or something!

I got my AC lines and started to put everything back together.

But I can't get the flange of the AC lines to mate up to the back of the compressor. The metal pipe that twists it's way into the passenger manifold is in the way.

The line I'm installing is number 29 in this pic. (thx shoebox!)

I don't think it goes between the ac compressor and the metal exhaust tube, but behind the metal exhaust tube if that makes any sense.

Please help - I'm trying to get the car out of the garage tomorrow.

Thanks!

Wandering down to the garage, back in 5...

I took a look at my spare engine with the old components, I see what you mean about the about pipe. It looks like the AIR pipe should run against the block and NOT between the AC lines. I found some pics that should help... Maybe unbolt the lines from the rest of the connections in order to let them move about a bit, I know its a rather tight fit, and if the hard lines were slightly bent during removal it'll make it even worse.

EDIT

Component #2 in this pic, yes?

You got it man!!! Thanks so much!

So it goes behind that pipe - it's not fitting right now so like you said, maybe something is bent.
