ltl 94 z28 camaro

when accelerating about 35-45 mph, car starts to act as if it wants to shut off, but doesnt, as soon as that happens service engine light comes on. but will still run. if i turn car off. and then on ligh goes away and comes back..any insights

could be ur plugs and wires... did u use a scanner to check any codes? have u done a tune up on it?

as far as scanner..iwas told cant use scanner only for 96 and up. i'll have my college check it out for me. but got to wait untill fall of august. the instructor told me it is missing and backfireing. and will do tune up..thanks..

What's needed is an OBDI scan tool. '96 and up are OBDII.

I've had a real time scanner, mounted on the dash, on my 94 for for 14 years.... they can be scanned, as moparman noted.
